FXCM UK Sees 22% YoY Decrease in Retail Trading Volumes in 2021

Forex Capital Markets Limited (FXCM UK), an operating subsidiary within the FXCM group of companies has revealed its trading data for 2021 in a regulatory filing, saw a 22% decrease in retail trading volumes in 2021 on a YoY basis.
The revenues of the broker in 2021 was $13.6 million, falling 12% compared to $15.4 million in 2020.
The net profit in 2021 was $227,982, just above breakeven in 2021. The net profit in the prior year came at $4,868,683.
Client cash held fell by 16% from $174 million in 2020 to $147 million in 2021, largely due to the company's clients being migrated to affiliates during the year. In 2021, FXCM UK was no longer to serve EU clients directly and they were invited to transition to FXCM Group's EU affiliate.
Retail trading volumes of the company down 22% from averaging $50 billion monthly in 2020 to $40 billion monthly in 2021 because of the increased volatility.
