Gate Technology Rebrands to Gate.io to Expand European Footprint

Gate Technology Ltd, formerly known as Gate.MT, has officially announced its rebranding to Gate.io. The company stated that this name change reflects its strategic focus on strengthening its presence across Europe and aligning its operations with the globally recognized Gate.io brand.

Gate Technology Ltd has been operating in Europe since 2022 under a VFA Class 4 license obtained from the Malta Financial Services Authority (MFSA). Additionally, its subsidiary in Italy is registered as a Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) with the Organismo Agenti e Mediatori (OAM) since 2024. Both entities will now operate under the Gate.io branding.

The company explained that the rebranding is intended to capitalize on the established reputation of the Gate.io name, which it describes as one of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchanges with over 22 million users. This move is part of a broader strategy to enhance brand recognition in Europe and reinforce its commitment to providing top-tier cryptocurrency exchange and custody services.

In a statement, the company stressed that the rebranding is more than just a name change, indicating that it is part of a larger effort to improve service offerings for European clients and ensure a secure and user-friendly experience while adhering to local cryptocurrency regulations.
