Gemini Appoints Pravjit Tiwana as Chief Technology Officer

The crypto exchange and custodian Gemini announced that it has appointed Pravjit Tiwana as its Chief Technology Officer.

Pravjit joined from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and was General Manager of Edge Services, including Amazon CloudFront, AWS Edge Computing, and AWS Data Transfer Operations. Prior to working at AWS for over 6 years, Pravjit held product and engineering leadership roles at Microsoft and Disney.

As Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Pravjit leads engineering and product teams, leveraging his extensive experience in building a behavior-biased, world-class engineering culture. He helps the company extend and deliver value to customers with speed and reliability — thereby Gemini has financial, creative and personal freedom with simple, reliable and secure products and services.

In Pravjit's own words, he decided to join Gemini:"We want to help build Web3 and the decentralized metaverse. The promise is as big as the Internet itself, and Gemini is in a position to help build and catalyze its future."

Last week, Gemini announced the acquisition of Omniex, a trading technology platform that provides order, execution, and portfolio management system solutions for institutional crypto trading.
