Genesis Co-Founder James Harrison Takes Helm as CEO

Financial markets technology provider Genesis Global has appointed co-founder James Harrison as its new chief executive, succeeding Stephen Murphy, who is stepping down after a decade leading the company.
Genesis offers an AI-native application development platform aimed at modernizing legacy systems, reducing vendor dependencies and replacing manual processes in the financial sector. Over the past decade, Murphy and Harrison built Genesis into a global provider whose clients include major institutions such as Bank of America, Citi, ING and BNY.
Reflecting on his tenure, Murphy said, "Leading Genesis has been the thrill of my career...the opportunities ahead for Genesis far exceed what James and I imagined when we started our journey." Harrison, now based in New York, said it was "an absolute honor" to lead the firm, adding that the company remains "laser focused" on helping clients take advantage of AI and other technological changes.
The company has seen increased demand for solutions addressing regulatory compliance, such as Europe's T+1 settlement requirements, and for AI-enabled tools that allow non-technical users to build compliant applications. Genesis' platform embeds governance controls for AI interactions, aiming to make the technology both predictable and secure in financial workflows.
