GMO Click Reports 7.5% MoM Decline in FX Volumes in August 2021

Japanese retail broker GMO Click recently posted its financials for the month of August, showing a slip in foreign exchange volumes.
82.1 trillion yen worth of foreign exchange was traded last month on FX Neo, a spot forex trading platform of the Japanese broker, dropped by 7.5 percent compared with July's 88.8 billion yen. This represents a drop from 120.3 trillion yen against the same period in 2020.
In particular, the broker achieved 3,348 new FX Neo accounts last month, bringing the total number of accounts to 723,802.
Although lower on a monthly comparison, the demand on the daily FX futures exchange, Click 365, has grown by 25.2 percent on a yearly scale. It closed the month with 620,259 Click 365 accounts.
Unlike forex, the demand for stocks last month surged by 3.7 percent on a MoM basis, but this interest declined from August 2020.
