Goodbox and Mulberry Team up to Enable Contactless Donations

Fazzaco learned that Manchester-based one-stop shop for digital fundraising Goodbox and Mulberry, a British high-end fashion firm, have inked a partnership agreement to supply contactless donation devices to Mulberry stores across the UK.
Goodbox notes that cash usage is plummeting, and amid coronavirus the use of of digital payment have skyrocketed, leaving cash dependent charities in the tight spot.
“GoodBox was founded on the insight that a cashless society is having a negative impact on the charity sector. Since 2016, we have dedicated ourselves to solving this problem. From research and product development, to testing contactless prototypes in live fundraising environments, we leave no stone unturned in our pursuit of technological excellence for charities,” the company added.
Reportedly, all funds raised will go to The Felix Project, which redistributes surplus food around London ensuring those that would otherwise go hungry, are fed. Through the collaboration, Mulberry plans to supply 100,000 meals this winter, and is committed to matching online customer donations pound-for-pound.
“The Felix Project is such an important cause and a vital lifeline for so many especially at this time of the year. We are delighted to be able to support them with our devices across Mulberry stores. Offering a simple contactless donation point has been proven to raise more funds as so many potential donors don’t have cash available,” said Francesca Hodgson, GoodBox’s Co-Founder and Managing Director.
Based on the information offered on its website, 2,000 plus charities has signed up on Goodbox so far, raising nearly £10 million in donations. The company has supplied around 6,650 devices in the UK and Ireland. Besides, through implementing contactless technology, its charity partners have seen an uplift of 64% in their donation income, plus an increase in their cash donations.
