Halifax Liquidator KPMG Releases Update to Investors

KPMG, the Liquidator of Halifax Investment Services Pty Ltd, recently released update to investors.
In the October Update, the Liquidator anticipated that the close out process would commence in late November 2021. KPMG now confirms that the close out of the portfolio will take place consistent with this timing.
As a result of the steps which will be taken by the Liquidators to close out the portfolio, from 30 November 2021, access to Halifax may be limited. However, investors will be able to generate account statements. These changes will occur because the share records in investor accounts on the IB AU, IB NZ, MT4 and/or MT5 platforms will be consolidated so as to appear as one single consolidated record in each of the IB AU and IB NZ Master Accounts. Following this consolidation, the shares recorded in the IB AU and IB NZ Master Accounts will be sold. Accoding to KPMG, this will not affect the calculation of investors' proportionate entitlement which is to be calculated based on their entitlement as at 27 November 2018 pursuant to the judicial advice / directions made on 19 May 2021 by their Honours Markovic J and Venning J.
Any shares which are subject to Investor claims in respect of Category 3 and 5 will be quarantined from the close out process and will not be dealt with until such time as those claims have been resolved.
Please submit all queries in writing to the Liquidators via email to au-fmhalifax@kpmg.com.au.
