HKEX Announces Personnel Changes for Co-COO and Head of Listing

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) has announced the new appointments of Bonnie Y Chan and Wilfred Yiu as Co-Chief Operating Officers (Co-COO) , and Katherine Ng appointed as Head of Listing, effective on 1 February 2023.

In their new roles, Bonnie and Wilfred will oversee all operational matters of business of the exchange and report directly to Nicolas Aguzin, CEO at HKEX.

Bonnie will be responsible for overseeing the Chief China Economist's Office, Corporate Communications, Group Strategy, Human Resources, Mainland Development and LME Clear, while Yiu, as Co-COO and Head of Equities, he will continue to be responsible for overseeing the operation of HKEX’s cash, derivatives, clearing and depository businesses.

Katherine Ng, who joined in HKEX in 2013 as Head of Policy and Secretariat Service, Listing Division, has been named as Head of Listing, succeeding Chan. She will report to Mr Aguzin and become a member of the HKEX Management Committee.

Meanwhile, Glenda So has been appointed as Group Head of Emerging Business and FIC, responsible for overseeing Market Policy and Development, in addition to her current responsibilities leading Fixed Income and Currency Markets, Data and Connectivity, Digital Assets and Carbon/ESG Markets. Furthermore, Matthew Chamberlain, Group Head of Commodities and CEO of the London Metal Exchange, will become responsible for all of HKEX's commodities business, including the Qianhai Mercantile Exchange and Global Commodities Product Development.

Last December, the group opened a new office in New York​ headed by Roger McAvoy, Managing Director and Head of Business Development, North America, to expand its international footprint and support its growing global client base.
