HKEX Appoints New Leaders to Strengthen Sustainability and Communications
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) has announced the appointments of Paul Chow as Group Chief Sustainability Officer and Jeffrey Ng as Group Chief Communications Officer, effective January 1, 2025. These newly created roles aim to bolster HKEX's commitment to sustainability and enhance its global communications strategy.
In his new position, Chow will spearhead the development of sustainability initiatives that align with HKEX's long-term objectives. He will oversee the sustainability division, ensuring that environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations are integrated across all operations and policies. Chow, who has served as Group General Counsel since April 2021, brings extensive experience from previous roles at Cathay Pacific Airways and top law firms, including Davis Polk & Wardwell and Linklaters.
Ng, who has been serving as Interim Group Chief Communications Officer since the beginning of the year, will now take on a permanent role to enhance HKEX's international presence and reputation. His responsibilities include managing corporate communications, media relations, and brand strategy. Ng joined HKEX in December 2017 and has a robust background in journalism, having spent over a decade at Dow Jones Newswires and The Wall Street Journal, where he led editorial teams across the Asia Pacific region.
Bonnie Y Chan, CEO of HKEX, expressed her enthusiasm for these appointments, emphasizing the importance of sustainability in the company's operations and the need for effective communication strategies to engage stakeholders. Both Chow and Ng will report directly to Chan, further solidifying HKEX's leadership team as it navigates an increasingly complex global market.
