HKEX Appoints SGX's Exec for Business Growth in South Asia & Middle East

Fazzaco learnt that the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) has appointed Narendra Hegde as its Head, South Asia & Middle East Business Development. Narendra joins HKEX from the Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) Group where he was Director of International Sales for Singapore & Rest of Asia.

Narendra brings over 18 years' experience in in sales and client services in the finance service field. Before the new appointment, he spent almost 10 years at SGX since 2013, responsible for driving SGX business in the South Asia and Middle-East by making sales and marketing efforts, so as to achieve market share and revenue growth in SGX Derivatives and Cash markets. Prior to that, he served as Client Services at Singapore Mercantile Exchange (SMX) for nearly 4 years.

Previously, Narendra held positions at two banking giant Credit Suisse and UBS Investment Bank, in which his main duties are Client On boarding. 

Earlier in his career, Narendra was part of SUN micro-systems Global Communications support team after serving as a Programmer at In-Solutions Global Pvt. Ltd.

HKEX has witnessed 18% year-on-year decline​ in its revenue during H1 2022.
