HKEX Launches Fund Repository on Integrated Fund Platform
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) has announced the launch of a Fund Repository on its Integrated Fund Platform (IFP), aimed at improving the transparency of information regarding Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) authorized funds in Hong Kong. This initiative represents a significant advancement in providing essential fund information.
The Fund Repository will offer streamlined access to details on over 2,000 SFC-authorized funds, supporting the long-term growth of the fund industry. By enhancing transparency, the repository is expected to improve investor knowledge and understanding of available funds.
Glenda So, Co-Head of Markets at HKEX, commented on the launch, stating that the Fund Repository is designed to bolster Hong Kong's fund industry ecosystem. Easier access to fund information will assist investors in making informed decisions and enable market participants to serve their clients more effectively. HKEX aims to foster a diverse and efficient fund distribution ecosystem, reinforcing Hong Kong's role as a global wealth management center.
Development is ongoing for additional functionalities of the IFP, including a business platform and a communications network to facilitate order routing and nominee services.
Supported by the HKSAR Government and the SFC, the IFP seeks to enhance the fund distribution landscape. HKEX has been engaging with regulators and industry stakeholders and will continue to gather input to guide the platform's evolution. More details on the development of the platform will be shared in the future.
