Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) has announced two strategic appointments, highlighting its commitment to strengthening its market position. Gregory Yu will join as Managing Director, Head of Markets, while Kevin Rumjahn will assume the role of Managing Director, Head of Strategic Projects.

Mr. Yu, who brings over 25 years of experience in capital markets, will take charge of HKEX's equities, derivatives, and fixed-income and currencies divisions, further cementing Hong Kong's role as a leading international capital market. He is set to join in March 2025 after an 18-year tenure at JP Morgan.

HKEX CEO Bonnie Y Chan expressed her confidence in the appointment, saying, "Greg's extensive knowledge of international and Mainland China markets will make him a valued member of the senior team."

Kevin Rumjahn, joining in January 2025, will focus on driving key strategic initiatives across multiple operational functions. Vanessa Lau, HKEX's Chief Operating Officer and Group CFO, will oversee his role. Chan remarked, "Kevin's extensive experience in corporate finance and client engagement makes him well-suited to help us deliver mission-critical projects."
