ICE Futures U.S. Issues $30,000 Fine to Edgehog Trading

ICE Futures U.S. recently posted a disciplinary notice against Edgehog Trading International LLC, citing potential breaches of several compliance rules. Following an investigation, a subcommittee from the Business Conduct Committee (BCC) of ICE Futures determined that Edgehog may have violated Exchange Rule 4.19(e) due to its failure to maintain an adequate audit trail for numerous order messages routed through its Electronic Trade System.
These issues reportedly spanned from August 2020 to January 2021. The BCC also suggested that Edgehog potentially breached Rule 4.01(a) by not implementing proper safeguards to ensure the consistent retention of its audit trail records, a fundamental requirement for regulatory compliance within futures trading.
In a settlement agreement reached with the exchange, Edgehog neither admitted nor denied these alleged infractions but agreed to pay a monetary penalty of $30,000. The exchange emphasized that maintaining a robust audit trail is essential for market integrity and compliance with federal regulations, and it uses these audit trails to assess trading patterns and investigate possible misconduct.
