ICM MENA CEO promotion announcement with Ahmed Kamal

ICM MENA, the Middle East and North Africa unit of retail FX and CFDs broker ICM.com, has promoted Ahmed Kamal to Chief Executive Officer, the company announced.

Kamal joined ICM in March 2019 as a Business Development Manager and has since built his career across the company’s regional business, most recently serving as Regional Manager. His progression included roles as Senior Business Development Manager and Team Leader for the region, where he led business development for ICM’s MENA client base. Before joining ICM MENA, he spent several years at JMI Brokers.

The promotion follows the departure last year of ICM MENA Senior Executive Officer Wassim Anastasiou and several other executives, who left for rival broker Traze.

Shoaib Abedi, Founder and Chairman of ICM, said the promotion recognises Kamal’s contribution to ICM MENA since joining and the leadership he has shown in building the MENA team. Abedi added that Kamal’s experience and understanding of clients would support the company’s ambitions to grow its presence across the region.

Kamal said he was honoured to take on the role, citing his work with clients and teams across the region over the past seven years. He said his focus would be on strengthening relationships with traders and partners in MENA and continuing to deliver the service that has shaped ICM’s reputation.

ICM MENA is licensed by the UAE Capital Market Authority with a Category Five license to promote and introduce financial products and services. ICM.com is controlled by founder and CEO Shoaib Abedi through Luxembourg holding company ICM Holding SARL, and operates licensed subsidiaries in the UAE and Switzerland, as well as offshore in Mauritius.
