IG Group Appoints David Perry as Group CTO

IG Group Holdings has announced the appointment of David Perry as its new Group Chief Technology Officer, effective October 10. Perry brings extensive experience in technology leadership across fintech and digital sectors, joining the online brokerage from Vemi Money, where he also served as Group CTO.

Before that, Perry founded Ziglu, a digital currency platform later acquired by Robinhood. His career also includes senior roles at Starling Bank, BP, and Barclays, spanning innovation, cybersecurity, and large-scale technology transformation.

The appointment follows IG Group's recent inclusion on the UK Financial Conduct Authority's cryptoasset register, making it the first publicly listed UK company to achieve that status. The move signals IG's continued focus on integrating digital asset infrastructure into its trading ecosystem.

As Group CTO, Perry will be responsible for leading technology strategy, strengthening platform reliability, and advancing digital capabilities across IG's global operations. The company said his leadership will be key to supporting ongoing modernization efforts and expanding product accessibility for retail and institutional clients alike.
