IG Group CEO June Felix to Leave Office Due to Health Concerns

June Felix, the CEO of IG Group, a multinational online trading firm that offers CFDs and Forex, has stated today that she will resign effective immediately owing to health concerns. Since the beginning of July, CEO Charlie Rozes has served in an acting capacity while Felix has been out on medical leave.
According to the corporation, Rozes will stay in the position while a new CEO is expected to be named by the board of directors in the upcoming months.
Felix, a 66-year-old veteran in the financial markets, has been the company's CEO for almost five years. The last financial year marked the first time under her leadership that IG Group had yearly revenues of $1.26 billion.
"On behalf of the Board, I would like to extend our best wishes to June as she continues her recovery. We thank her for the significant contribution she has made over the past eight years as a board member and especially as Group CEO for almost five years. During her tenure as CEO the company has successfully pursued a strategy to diversify the business while at the same time strengthening its core OTC business resulting in a doubling of the Group's revenue and profit over the period," Chairman Mike McTighe commented.
As part of her diversification strategy, Felix led the company to make its first foray into North America in 2021 when it paid $1 billion acquiring the American trading platform tastytrade. Since she assumed leadership in October 2018, the value of IG Group shares has increased by about 15%.
