IG Group Chairman Mike McTighe to Step Down by End of 2025

IG Group's Chairman, Mike McTighe, will step down by the end of 2025, marking the end of his five-year tenure. His leadership began in February 2020, right at the start of the pandemic, and now, as the company looks toward its future, McTighe feels confident about the company's direction under the leadership of CEO Breon Corcoran.
In a statement, McTighe said, "It has been a great honor and privilege to lead the Board over the past five years." Reflecting on the company's performance during his time, he noted, "With solid foundations laid for stronger growth, I am confident that under Breon Corcoran's leadership, IG will go from strength to strength."
McTighe's departure follows a period of strong financial recovery for IG Group. The company reported a 24% increase in net profit for the fiscal year 2025, reaching £380.4 million, while total revenue grew by 9% year-over-year, surpassing £1 billion. Despite this, the focus is now shifting towards a leadership transition, with Corcoran's first full year at the helm, a role he took on in January 2024.
Corcoran, who brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles at WorldRemit and Paddy Power Betfair, has already begun implementing his vision for growth. While the succession plan is in motion, IG has not yet disclosed any potential successors.
McTighe has served in various high-profile roles, including as Chairman of Openreach and Together Financial Services. He also chairs the Telegraph Media Group and Men's Professional Rugby Board. With such an extensive background, McTighe's departure will certainly mark a key turning point for the company.
