IG Group Finalizes Acquisition of Neobroker Freetrade

UK-based online brokerage firm IG Group has officially completed its previously announced acquisition of London-based neobroker Freetrade for £160 million. The acquisition, which was first disclosed on January 16, 2025​, became effective yesterday, April 1, 2025.

In a joint statement released on social media, the companies announced, "Freetrade is now officially part of IG Group. With IG's resources and backing, we'll be fast-tracking the launch of new products and features to better serve all of our customers."

Breon Corcoran, CEO of IG Group, commented on the acquisition, stating, "I am delighted to welcome Viktor and the Freetrade team to IG and look forward to working together to take the platform to the next level."

Viktor Nebehaj, CEO and co-founder of Freetrade, also shared his enthusiasm, saying, "We are excited to be joining a company that shares our ambition and vision.
