IG Japan Alerts Traders to Heightened Volatility Amid Middle East Tensions
IG Securities, the Japanese subsidiary of IG Group, has issued a notice warning clients about increased market volatility linked to the deterioration of geopolitical conditions in the Middle East.
According to the broker, rising regional tensions have contributed to significant price fluctuations across multiple asset classes, with rapid market movements expected to persist. The firm noted that current conditions have occasionally affected trading stability, citing challenges such as heightened volatility, less favorable trading environments, and intermittent disruptions in the provision of pricing information for certain securities.
In its communication, IG Securities stated that further sudden market swings could occur depending on how the geopolitical situation develops. Traders were advised to ensure sufficient account funding to reduce the risk of forced liquidation of existing positions.
The notice also highlighted operational considerations, warning that additional deposits may be restricted during weekends or periods when financial institutions are closed. The company added that trading conditions — including margin requirements — could be adjusted immediately if market risks intensify.
To navigate the current environment, traders were encouraged to review position sizing, consider the use of no-slippage orders, set appropriate settlement levels, and closely monitor open positions as volatility remains elevated.
