For the three months ended November, net trading revenue reached £271 million, representing an increase of nearly 30% compared with the same period last year. The group said growth was driven by higher activity in contracts for difference (CFDs), stock trading, and retail investment products. The United States was the fastest-growing market, with tastytrade generating more than $65 million in revenue during the period.

Client engagement also increased, with the number of first trades rising 64% year-on-year and active accounts up 8%. Chief Executive Officer Breon Corcoran said the results showed that “strategic initiatives were translating into revenue growth and accelerating client acquisition.”

Stock trading and investment revenue benefited from IG’s zero-commission share dealing offer in the UK, which has since been extended to Ireland, Singapore, and France. Share dealing volumes in the UK and Ireland nearly doubled from a year earlier, with overseas trades accounting for more than 40% of activity.

IG also highlighted progress in its crypto strategy after securing regulatory approvals under the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority and the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework. The group said this positions it for further expansion across APAC, the Middle East, and Europe in 2026. Meanwhile, Freetrade, acquired earlier this year, reported assets under administration of £3.3 billion, with total revenue up 31% year-on-year.

Alongside the trading update, IG announced several retail initiatives, including a 5% cashback promotion for UK residents opening their first ISA, SIPP, or general investment account before the end of December 2025. The firm also launched daily options on Tesla shares, offering same-day expiry contracts.

Separately, IG confirmed the sale of its Small Exchange business to Kraken for $100 million. The transaction generated a post-tax profit of £73.3 million and increased IG’s regulatory capital resources by £22.7 million, excluding the equity portion of the deal.
