Institutional FX Trading Volume Rebounds in September 2020

Overall, Euronext FX has the biggest percent of MOM increase, followed by Cboe FX with 11.15 percent. Moscow Exchange, Integral, FxSpotStream and PrimeXM are also showing upstick.

The details of each platform are as follows:

Moscow Exchange:

The total trading volumes across Moscow Exchange’s markets in September 2020 grew by 27.8% to RUB 86.5 trln, with the FX Market’s ADTV was RUB 1,357.2 bln (USD 17.9 bln), compared to RUB 1,193.5 bln (USD 18.4 bln) in September 2019.

Integral:

Integral reported average daily volumes (ADV) across Integral platforms totaled $41 billion in September 2020. This represents an increase of 3% compared to August 2020, and an increase of 9.9% compared to the same period in 2019.

FxSpotStream:

FxSpotStream generated Average Daily volume of $43.702 billion in 22 trading days, with 6.6% MoM change and 17% YoY change.

Cboe FX:

Cboe FX has recorded $31.9 billion ADV, an increase of 11.15% compared to $28.7 billion in August

Euronext FX:

Euronex FX reported Average Daily volume of $21.339 billion, with 12.6% MoM change.

PrimeXM:

PrimeXM has recorded a total of $936.97 billion in monthly trading volume in September across the 3 major Data Center locations. The Average Daily Volume (ADV) in September was $42.59 billion, an over 3% improvement compared to ADV of August.

The highest daily trading volume of the month was recorded on 21 September with a $60.68 billion turnovers. The total number of trades in September was 27.29 million.
