The electronic trading platform Interactive Brokers recently announced the update of its Trader Workstation (TWS) platform. In version 10.10 of the platform, the broker streamlines the Financial Instrument Description fields.

Specifically, the US-listed brokerage combined the group of Financial Instrument Description fields, including Description, Exchange, Symbol, and Underlying, into a single field called Financial Instrument. This aggregation applies across all tools that allow adding/removing of fields and across all of Interactive Brokers’ trading platforms.

Designed to optimize clients’ trading speed and efficiency, the TWS platform lets traders, investors and institutions trade stocks, options, futures, forex, bonds and funds on over 100 markets worldwide from a single account.

Interactive Brokers regularly updates its trading platforms. The preceding build of the platform enhanced the Advisor Allocation Group functionality, including the removal of Method field in orders, changes to “Equal Quantity” method and default size for Group Allocations.

As Fazzaco reported earlier, Interactive Brokers changed the default action of the Order Ticket in the TWS platform, offering more flexibility in terms of the setting relating to the Order Ticket.
