Interactive Brokers Enhances IBKR Desktop with New Options Strategy Selector

Electronic trading firm Interactive Brokers has released Version 1.4 of its IBKR Desktop platform, introducing a new "Options Strategy Selector" within the Strategy Builder tool. The update is designed to streamline the process of structuring complex options trades.

The new feature allows traders to access pre-defined option strategies directly from the Strategy Builder Drawer before defining individual trade legs. Users can navigate to the Option Chain tab and utilize a "Custom" drop-down menu to select specific setups, such as Calendar Spreads, which then automatically update within the builder.

Additionally, the platform now includes an "Auto-Place At Money" function. This option allows traders to automatically position their selected strategy approximately at-the-money relative to the current market price, rather than manually adjusting strike prices. Once the parameters are set, orders can be transmitted directly through the strategy builder interface.
