Interactive Brokers Enhances Investment Offerings in Japan with Global CFDs

Interactive Brokers, a leading US-based global electronic broker, has announced the expansion of investment options for Japanese clients. The addition of Global Contracts for Difference (CFDs) on US stocks now allows Japanese traders to invest in CFDs alongside global stocks, options, and futures through Interactive Brokers Securities Japan Inc. ("Interactive Brokers Japan").

In addition to the introduction of CFDs on US stocks, Interactive Brokers has rolled out several new features for Japanese clients. These include the newly-launched IBKR Desktop, expanded overnight trading hours service, fractional shares trading, as well as the enhanced Japanese website. IBKR Desktop​ is a next-generation desktop trading application for Windows and Mac launched by Interactive Brokers in February this year, designed to enhance the trading experience for traders.

This news comes shortly as Interactive Brokers releases its financial results for Q1 2024, reporting impressive figures with a net revenue exceeding $1.2 billion, marking a 13.9% year-on-year increase. Adjusted income before taxes for the period amounted to $879 million, reflecting a significant 22.1% year-on-year growth.
