Interactive Brokers Introduces ForecastTrader Feature on IBKR Desktop

Electronic trading firm Interactive Brokers has announced the launch of its new ForecastTrader feature, now available on the IBKR Desktop platform. This addition will allow the company's clients to engage in the buying and selling of exchange-listed Forecast and Event Contracts.

In a statement, Interactive Brokers highlighted that this new feature provides investors with "a new and straightforward way of participating in key futures markets." These contracts are based on the outcome of specific events and are designed as short-term investment vehicles, valid only for the trading day on which they are purchased.

The Forecast and Event Contracts will enable users to express their market sentiment on the price movements of key futures markets. Specifically, investors can take a position on whether the price will increase or decrease by the conclusion of each trading day's session.

Interactive Brokers has a history of regularly updating its trading platforms. Recent enhancements to the IBKR Desktop platform, prior to the introduction of ForecastTrader, include improvements to Tactical Layouts and the introduction of functionality allowing users to view multiple IBKR Desktop monitors by detaching layout screens.
