Interactive Brokers Launches Free Microlearning App for Investors

Interactive Brokers has introduced a new, free microlearning application called IBKR InvestMentor, designed to educate beginner investors. The app, developed by the firm's educational subsidiary Interactive Academy LLC, is currently available on iOS devices and aims to deliver short, interactive lessons on financial topics.
IBKR InvestMentor offers content covering foundational investment concepts such as stocks, bonds, options, futures, and various investment strategies. The lessons are structured to be concise and user-friendly, allowing individuals to learn at their own pace. The app also integrates interactive quizzes to help reinforce understanding and engagement.
Thomas Peterffy, Founder and Chairman of Interactive Brokers, commented on the initiative: "With IBKR InvestMentor, you assimilate knowledge by microdosing at your own pace. It is free. No matter where you are, if you have a phone, you have no excuse not to learn and succeed."
The launch of this app comes amidst a period of increased retail participation in financial markets, where financial literacy may not always keep pace.
This new offering complements Interactive Brokers' existing educational resources, including IBKR Campus, and aligns with the company's broader mission to enhance accessibility to financial knowledge, particularly for self-directed investors.
The app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store, with no immediate announcement regarding an Android version. The introduction of IBKR InvestMentor follows a period of strong performance for Interactive Brokers, which reported a 40% year-over-year increase in daily average revenue trades (DARTs) in June, reaching 3.448 million. Client accounts also grew by 32% year-over-year, reaching 3.866 million active accounts.
