Interactive Brokers Registers 52% Yearly Rise in Net Revenues for Q2 2023

Interactive Brokers​, a US-based automated global electronic broker, has released its financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2023, and the first half of 2023. Net revenues for Q2 2023 enjoyed a significant increase to $1,000 million, compared with $656 million in Q2 2022.

Revenue from commission remained the same as Q2 2022 of $322 million. Net income for the quarter came in at $601 million, surging 67% from the year-ago quarter. Net interest income reached $694 million, 99% higher over $348 million in the last same period, with income before income taxes at $652 million, up 66%.

Diluted earnings per share for Q2 2023 increased to $1.20 from $0.72 in Q2 2022. Execution, clearing and distribution fees expenses went up 21% to $93 million on a yearly basis, driven by higher customer trading volume in options.

For the first half of 2023, Interactive Brokers generated net revenues of $2,056 million, rising 58% from $1,301 million in the year-ago semester, with commission revenue growing slightly to $679 million.

Net income for H1 2023 stood at $1,301 million, surging 79% year-over-year. Net interest income and income before income taxes were $1,331 million and $1,413 million, rising 111% and 80%, respectively. Diluted earnings per share increased from $1.47 to $2.65.
