Interactive Brokers Reports 32% YoY Jump in DARTs in July 2021

​Interactive Brokers, one of the biggest US-based brokerage firm, recently posted its trading volumes for the month of July, indicating a jump in DARTs on a YoY basis.

More specifically, the broker registered a DARTs of 2.36 million, 4% lower than the previous month and 32% higher than the previous year. In July, the broker has solicited over 37,200 new traders, bringing the total number of traders on the platform to more than 1.45 million. 

The new client intake figure is 32 percent higher than June but gained marginally by only 1 percent from July 2020. In addition, the average cleared DARTs per account on an annualized basis came in at 372, 7 percent and 18 percent lower month-over-month and year-over-year, respectively. 

The client margin loans in July reached $47.9 billion, up 69% compared to the prior year.
