Interactive Brokers Reports a 4% M/M Increase in DARTs for May 2022

Interactive Brokers, a US-based online trading platform, released its monthly brokerage data for May 2022, showing a 4% increase in the Daily Average Revenue Trades (DARTs) from 22.04 billion trades in April, and a 2% increase on a YoY basis.
Its ending client equity fell to $314.6 billion from $324.5 billion the previous month, down 3% on a MoM basis. The main reason is that one omnibus broker is now using a trust company for custody.
Ending client margin loan balances of $44.2 billion, 6% lower than prior month ($46.8 billion) and 3% lower than prior year.
Ending client credit balances of $91.8 billion, including $2.2 billion in insured bank deposit sweeps, 1% higher than prior month and 14% higher than prior year.
Interactive Brokers currently has 1.89 million client accounts, an increase of 2% from 1.85 million last month and an increase of 36% year-on-year.
Average commissions per cleared commissionable order for stocks, equity options and futures were $1.90, $3.68 and $3.49, respectively.
