Interactive Brokers Sees 16% YoY Fall in DARTs for May 2023

Interactive Brokers, a US-based automated global electronic broker, has published the performance metrics for its Electronic Brokerage segment in May 2023, unveiling a growth in Daily Average Revenue Trades (DARTs) on a mothly basis but a slump on a yearly basis.
The total DARTs for May stood at 1.86 million, up 5% from April 2023, but down 19% comared to that of May 2022. The platform’s client accounts for the month came in at 2.26 million, an increase of 2% month-on-month and year-over-year as well.
The broker ended the month with client equity of $345.1 billion, rising slightly over the prior month, and 10% over the last same period. Besides, client margin loan balance dropped 10% on a yearly basis, with client credit balances down 1% on a monthly basis to $98.7 billion.
Moreover, the average commission generated from per cleared commissionable order was $3.08, dipping 3% over the prior month.
In April, Fazzaco reported that Interactive Brokers has generated net revenues for the first quarter of 2023 of $1,056 million, enjoying a significant increase of 63.72% from Q1 2022’s $645 million. And the adjusted figure for the current quarter was $1,015 million. The total DARTs for the quarter came in at 2.05 million, falling 19% on a yearly basis.
