Interactive Brokers UK Profit Jumps 150% to £34 Million as Client Count Tops 86,000

Interactive Brokers (U.K.) Limited reported a pre-tax profit of £34 million for the year ended December 31, 2025, according to a Companies House filing. This marks a 150% increase from the £13.6 million reported a year earlier. The FCA-regulated unit attributed the growth to steady client acquisition and higher commission and interest income.
After-tax profit rose to £26 million from £10.5 million. Turnover, derived entirely from order execution and clearing commissions, increased to £46.2 million from £36 million. These figures pertain solely to the UK subsidiary of Nasdaq-listed Interactive Brokers Group.
The company served 86,798 clients at year-end, a 35% increase from 64,146 in 2024. While still robust, this growth rate slowed from the 142% surge recorded the prior year. Net commissions, identified as the sole revenue line, climbed alongside the higher client count.
Administrative expenses increased to £67 million from £59.4 million. The operating loss narrowed to £9.96 million from £16.2 million in 2024. Profitability was primarily driven by finance income, which reached £147.6 million, including interest from client balances and margin lending. Finance costs rose slightly to £103.6 million.
Client money held by IBKR UK increased to £1.22 billion from £896.6 million. The broker has expanded into cryptocurrency trading via a Paxos partnership and recently allowed transfers of existing crypto holdings.
The results come amid varied performance from UK retail brokers. IG Group reported record revenue of £1.12 billion for 2025, while CMC Markets posted a 33% jump in pre-tax profit to £84.5 million.
