Intercontinental Exchange Sees 6.1% Monthly Decrease in FX Volume for Feb. 2023

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc., a leading global provider of data, technology and market infrastructure, has published its trading data for February 2023, recording a decrease of 6.1% in FX volume on a MoM basis.
More specifically, the exchange registered a total volume of FX contracts of 738,755, dropping 6.1% compared to 786,364 contracts in January 2023 and dropping 3.6% compared to 766,533 contracts in February 2022.
The Average daily volume (ADV) of FX contracts for the month came in at 38,882, a decrease of 1.1% compared to 39,318 contracts in the prior month and a decrease of 3.6% compared to 40,344 contracts in the same period of last year.
The overall financial products, which also include interest rates and equity indices, amounted to 59,236,876 contracts, 17.5% higher than 50,425,925 contracts in January and 9.8 lower than 65,668,473 contracts in February 2022. The ADV stood at 2,980,421 contracts for the month.
