Investing.com Acquired by an East Asian Fund for $500m
Investing.com, one of the top three global financial websites in the world, was reportedly sold by its founder kibbutznik Dror Efrat to an international investment fund based in East Asia for $500 million.
Founded in 2007 by Dror Efrat and three others, the portal currently offers market quotes, analyses and information about stocks, commodities, currencies and cryptocurrencies, foreign currencies, bonds, interest rates, options and future contracts, and much more. The real time data it provides comes from more than 100 stock exchanges around the globe. The company now has more than 250 employees.
Dror Efrat has been CEO of Investing.com for the portal's first 11 years of operations. He bought the Investing.com domain for an historic $2.45 million in late 2012. Having no paying readers or subscribers, Investing.com makes all its money from advertising. The company's current CEO is Omer Shvili, an industry veteran and Internet entrepreneur who joined Investing.com in November 2019.
