Kaiko Acquires Napoleon Index from Coinshares

Kaiko, a leading cryptocurrency market data provider, has announced the finalised agreement to purchase Napoleon Indices from Coinshares, a European digital asset investment firm.
Kaiko will simultaneously launch "Kaiko Indices", offering institutional investors a comprehensive suite of regulated, single-asset and multi-asset crypto asset benchmarks. The new launch has received clearance from the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF).

Kaiko stated on its official website that Alexandre Ruggeri would be appointed as Head of Kaiko Indices. Alexandre brings extensive experience in index design and commercialization to Kaiko. Previously, he held the role of Quantitative Strategies Research Director at IHS Markit, managing the transition of services from Euromoney to IHS Markit (approximately 5,000 indices and the entire data solution business). Prior to IHS Markit, he was an Index Development Manager at STOXX Ltd., a Swiss globally integrated index provider, where he was responsible for launching and developing indices.
"We are delighted to have launched Kaiko Indices and to be licensed under the Benchmarks Regulation by AMF in the ESMA framework", said Ambre Soubiran, Kaiko's CEO, "Compliance and regulation are critical to the success of the crypto and blockchain industry and we welcome efforts to introduce regulatory standards that maintain market integrity, transparency, security and investor protection."
This transaction follows Kaiko's successful acquisition of Kesitys earlier this year, a provider of quantitative decision tools for risk optimization in cryptocurrency markets, which aims to expand its offering in quantitative analytics solutions. Kaiko has created a new business unit largely made up of Kesitys executives to focus on quantitative analysis products.
