Kalshi Adds Base-Native USDC to Streamline Compliant Crypto Payments

U.S.-regulated prediction market Kalshi has enabled native USDC deposits on Base, the Ethereum Layer-2 network supported by Coinbase, expanding its reach across compliant crypto payment rails.
The integration allows users to fund accounts directly with Base-native USDC, removing the need for wrapped tokens or cross-chain bridges. The move strengthens Kalshi’s connection between regulated financial infrastructure and blockchain technology while maintaining full U.S. compliance.
Kalshi, a Designated Contract Market under the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) since 2020, remains the only federally regulated exchange where retail users can trade contracts based on real-world events, including inflation data, sports, and political outcomes.
The Base integration marks Kalshi’s third blockchain expansion in recent months, following similar launches on Sui and Aptos. Each rollout provides new entry points for stablecoin users and broadens Kalshi’s presence in crypto-native communities.
For USDC issuer Circle, the integration demonstrates growing adoption of its dollar-pegged stablecoin within regulated networks. Circle began issuing native USDC on Base in 2023 and went public in June 2025, highlighting stablecoins’ role as an established component of U.S. financial infrastructure.
By supporting Base, Kalshi enables faster, lower-cost deposits directly from Coinbase accounts and Base wallets. The move also aligns with Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP), allowing consistent asset transfers across Base, Ethereum, and other networks.
While offshore competitors such as Polymarket remain globally accessible, Kalshi is narrowing the usability gap by integrating efficient blockchain rails within U.S. regulatory boundaries.
Despite ongoing scrutiny from some state regulators over event-based contracts, Kalshi continues to bridge traditional oversight and decentralized infrastructure. The addition of Base-native USDC further enhances the user experience, signaling that regulated trading platforms are increasingly matching the speed and flexibility of offshore counterparts.
