Kalshi Faces Lawsuit in Kentucky for Allegedly Providing Illegal Gambling Services

Kalshi, Inc. faces a class action lawsuit at the Kentucky Western District Court for allegedly providing illegal gambling services. The complaint was filed on May 11, 2026 by plaintiff Donovan Roberts. The defendants include Kalshi, Inc.; KalshiEX LLC; Kalshi Klear, Inc.; Kalshi Klear LLC; Kalshi Trading LLC; Susquehanna International Group, LLP; and Susquehanna Government Products, LLLP.

This statewide class action seeks to recover losses for Kentucky residents who participated in alleged illegal gambling on Kalshi.com, pursuant to the state's gambling loss recovery statute. The plaintiff alleges that Kalshi's "prediction market" is untaxed, unregulated gambling, illegal in Kentucky.

The complaint states that Kalshi and similar sites offer 24/7 gambling access from any location. While Kentucky permits regulated sports betting, Kalshi operates without such oversight.
