The platform will begin collecting employment information from traders seeking access to certain contracts deemed vulnerable to insider information or manipulation, as part of a broader market integrity initiative.

According to the company, the goal is to identify "presumptive insiders" and prevent their participation using a risk-scoring system. Kalshi cited a hypothetical market on which AI firm will go public first as an example where participants may possess non-public information. The assessment will consider factors like corporate performance, product launches, and national security implications.

Head of Enforcement Robert DeNault stated that employment disclosures are one part of the initiative. The new measures were recommended by an independent Surveillance Audit Committee. Alongside the disclosure requirement, Kalshi introduced a whistleblower portal and expanded reporting tools.

The company has emphasized enforcement, opening over 150 investigations in Q1 and referring more than 20 cases to law enforcement. "By implementing these new integrity measures, we continue to lead the industry on the issue of market integrity amongst federally regulated prediction markets," DeNault said, according to Reuters.

The platform already screens categories like politicians and athletes during onboarding. The move comes as prediction markets face scrutiny over insider trading, with recent cases involving former Congressman George Santos and a Google employee. Policymakers are also increasing attention, with the House Oversight Committee recently requesting information on insider trading prevention from Kalshi and rival Polymarket.
