Swedish fintech giant Klarna launched its long-anticipated U.S. IPO this week, raising $1.37 billion and securing a valuation of about $15.2 billion in one of the largest fintech listings of 2025.

Shares were priced at $40 after strong investor demand, marking a milestone for the global buy now, pay later (BNPL) sector. The company, founded in Stockholm in 2005, has grown into a dominant BNPL provider, enabling millions of users worldwide to split payments across thousands of retail partners.

The IPO had faced delays earlier in the year amid tariff-driven volatility, but its eventual success is being read as a sign of renewed confidence in the sector. Analysts say the offering reflects investor appetite for fintech firms that can demonstrate both global reach and profitability potential.

Klarna's entry into the U.S. market has been particularly aggressive, with partnerships spanning online retailers, brick-and-mortar stores, and major e-commerce platforms. The listing gives the firm both visibility and fresh capital to accelerate expansion.

Meanwhile, trading platform FxPro announced that its clients can now speculate on Klarna's stock via contracts-for-difference (CFDs). Through FxPro's MetaTrader 5 accounts and app-based services, traders can go long or short on the newly listed shares, taking positions from as little as 0.01 lots. The broker highlighted fast execution and tight spreads as selling points for active investors.

Market observers expect Klarna's stock to attract significant interest from retail and institutional investors alike, given the volatility often associated with new tech listings.
