Komainu, a regulated custodian for digital assets for institutions, has bagged a full operating license from Dubai's Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority (VARA), following its acquisition of a minimal viable product (MVP) licence in November.

Komainu is a joint venture between Japanese investment bank Nomura, digital asset manager CoinShares and digital asset security company Ledger.

With the new license, the company is able to provide its full suite of custody services, including institutional staking and collateral management via its collateral management service, Komainu Connect.

Previously, Fazzaco reported that Binance, the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has obtained the operational MVP license in Dubai. Besides, Nomura's digital assets subsidiary Laser Digital has been granted a virtual asset service provider (VASP) license in the region.
