Latest CFTC Report Shows Retail Forex Funds in US Drop 5.49% in June 2025

The latest monthly report released by the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) indicates a drop in retail forex deposits for June 2025 compared to May. The total volume across six institutions decreased by 5.49% month-over-month, amounting to $479,475,934.

This report covers registered retail foreign exchange dealers (RFEDs) and broker-dealers operating in the US, including CHARLES SCHWAB Futures & Forex LLC, Gain Capital Group LLC, Interactive Brokers LLC, OANDA Corporation, tastyfx, and Trading.com Markets.

In June 2025, the total forex funds held by these six registered brokers amounted to US$479,475,934, marking a decrease of US$27,833,680 compared to the US$507,309,614 reported in May 2025. Year-over-year, the total volume was down 14% compared to US$557,549,710 in June 2024.

Registered Brokers' Performance

Here's how the six brokers performed month-over-month: CHARLES SCHWAB (+0.97%, increasing US$596,751), Gain Capital (-5.33%, decreasing US$11,455,516), Interactive Brokers (-1.65%, decreasing US$584,168), OANDA (-8.97%, decreasing US$13,583,155), tastyfx (-6.53%, decreasing US$2,707,779) and Trading.com (-4.09%, decreasing US$99,813).

Year-on-Year Changes of the Six Brokers

Compared with the data from the same month last year, two of the brokers saw yearly increases: Interactive Brokers (+25.28%, increasing US$7,007,931), and Trading.com (+5.49%, increasing US$121,847).

The following brokers experienced yearly declines: CHARLES SCHWAB (-1.22%, reducing US$769,010), Gain Capital (-1.89%, reducing US$3,921,955), OANDA (-28.5%, reducing US$54,971,189), and tastyfx (-39.73%, reducing US$25,541,400).

As per CFTC requirements, Futures Commission Merchants (FCMs) and Retail Foreign Exchange Dealers (RFEDs) must submit monthly financial reports to the CFTC's Market Participants Division (MPD) within 17 business days after the end of the month. This month's report reflects the financial information received as of July 31, 2025, detailing the financial situation of the relevant companies as of June 30, 2025.
