Liquidnet Appoints Michael Fidance to Lead CEEMEA Equities Strategy

Liquidnet, TP ICAP's institutional equities trading platform, has appointed Michael Fidance as the Head of its equities strategy across Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (CEEMEA). This newly established role is part of Liquidnet's broader strategy to enhance its presence within emerging markets.
Based in London, Fidance will report to James Whitehead, Liquidnet's Head of Trade Coverage for EMEA. His responsibilities will include expanding access to CEEMEA markets, fostering local liquidity, and strengthening relationships with both domestic and international asset managers.
James Whitehead commented on the new hire, noting that "Michael brings deep regional knowledge and a strong record of building client-driven businesses." He also indicated that Fidance's appointment "reflects the growing appetite from our Members for scalable, liquid execution solutions across CEEMEA."
Fidance brings over 25 years of experience in global equity and fixed income markets, having previously led sales for State Street's new execution solutions business and served as Head of Sales at CF Global Trading in Europe. His extensive background also includes more than 15 years at HSBC in senior roles focused on emerging markets equity sales and trading.
Michael Fidance expressed his view on the region, stating, "In CEEMEA, tradeable liquidity is the single biggest variable affecting capital markets development... I believe Liquidnet's platform can help push the region's equity markets to new heights."
This strategic hire follows other recent additions to Liquidnet's global equities team, including three former Instinet executives in the Americas in June, as the firm continues to expand its equities franchise worldwide. Liquidnet, founded in 1999, serves over 1,000 institutional investors across 57 markets.
