As an expansion of their existing relationship, the partnership focuses on providing Barclays with a broad range of capabilities to enhance delivery for customers and clients and prepare for the next generation in financial services across the full ecosystem of businesses.

Under the new partnership, LSEG will offer Barclays access to its market-leading data, insights, and capabilities, workflow solutions and feeds, as well as aiding Barclays in its efforts toward digitalization, cloud adoption, and enhancements to their customer platform.

Additionally, Barclays is in talks to join the Design Partner Programme, a collaboration between LSEG and Microsoft that was announced in December 2022. The Programme will seek to gather and analyse data and insights from customers while validating product concepts to ensure delivery of real and meaningful customer solutions to the market.

For LSEG, the two firms will share a commitment to collaborating and improving the development of LSEG's products and services.

Paul Compton, Global Head of the Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB), and President of Barclays Bank PLC, said: "LSEG is a long-term client and partner to Barclays and this engagement will see us working together to enhance existing offerings and develop new and innovative products and services. Continuing this relationship will maximize how we deliver results for clients globally, accelerate our digital transformation and advance our goals of consolidating relationships with a smaller number of global strategic market data vendors."

Ron Lefferts, Group Head of Sales & Account Management of LSEG, said: "We are delighted to have signed a new multi-year agreement with Barclays. They have been a long-standing, highly valued customer for a number of years and the strategic partnership will see us work together across a broad range of global, multi-asset class products and services."

Barclays has recently been under investigation by the UK's financial regulator, the FCA, over possible failings in the bank's compliance and anti-money laundering systems.
