LSEG and Microsoft Deepen AI Partnership to Deliver Financial Data Through Copilot

The London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) and Microsoft have reached a new stage in their strategic partnership, integrating LSEG's licensed financial data into Microsoft's AI ecosystem through Copilot Studio and the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The collaboration aims to let financial professionals build and deploy custom AI agents within Microsoft 365 applications like Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Under the initiative, LSEG's data—spanning over 33 petabytes of AI-ready content—will power AI-driven workflows and analytics directly within enterprise environments. The data will flow securely through an LSEG-managed MCP server, maintaining compliance and data integrity.
"LSEG's partnership with Microsoft is transforming access to data for financial professionals with cutting-edge, AI-driven innovation at scale," said David Schwimmer, LSEG's Group CEO. "Customers can build, deploy and scale agentic AI directly into their workflows with secure, seamless connectivity through MCP."
Microsoft's Nick Parker, President of Worldwide Sales & Solutions, said the collaboration highlights "a shared commitment to redefining the future of financial services through secure, AI-driven innovation."
The integration supports LSEG's "AI Everywhere" strategy, which seeks to make high-quality financial data accessible to AI systems across the global financial ecosystem. It also aligns with a broader industry trend of embedding compliant, licensed data into generative AI tools to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
