The service, now operational across MiFID-regulated instruments and foreign exchange markets, integrates firms’ proprietary trade data with public market information, reference datasets and news content to provide richer analytical context.

According to LSEG, its in-house surveillance technology handles billions of messages each day across its trading venues, improving alert accuracy while significantly reducing false positives.

The MiFID Trade Surveillance solution supports multiple asset classes and markets, leveraging the same datasets used by UK and EU regulators. It delivers cross-venue and cross-product monitoring via LSEG’s consolidated European order book, which aggregates data from more than 40 trading venues and Approved Publication Arrangements (APAs). Clients already using LSEG’s Regulatory Reporting Solutions ARM can deploy the system on a plug-and-play basis without additional technical integration.

For FX markets, the service provides monitoring capabilities for participants trading on LSEG’s FX Dealing, Advanced Dealing and Matching platforms, as well as external venues connected through the Trade Notification network. Through a secure online interface, users can view their own transaction data alongside the public Spot Matching order book.

Liam Smith, Chief Operating Officer of LSE plc, said the launch would support firms in strengthening compliance frameworks while lowering operational risk. Bruce Kellaway, CEO of Regulatory Reporting Solutions, described the MiFID offering as a cost-effective tool aligned with regulatory methodologies, while Bart Joris of LSEG emphasized the value of enhanced data context in navigating fragmented FX markets.
