LSEG Reports Total Income of £7,428M in 2022, up 19.6% YoY

London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), a leading global financial markets infrastructure and data provider, has released its financial results for the year ended 31 December 2022. Total income for the year reached £7,428 million, growing 19.6% from 2021’s £6,211 million.
Profit derived from operations came in at £1,417 million, increasing 33.1% year-over-year. On an adjusted basis, the figure was 2,728 million, up 19.5%. Profit before tax rose 38.8% from the prior year’s £894 million to £1,241 million.
Basic earnings per share surged 65.3% on a yearly basis, to 141.8 pence, while the adjusted figure stood at 317.8 pence, up 16.7%. Adjusted EBITDA was £3,550 million, up 19.6% year-over-year, with adjusted EBITDA margin remaining unchanged at 47.8%.
David Schwimmer, Group CEO, commented: "LSEG has had a strong year, successfully integrating Refinitiv and significantly improving its performance, while also delivering strong results in our Capital Markets and Post Trade businesses."
At the end of January, Fazzaco reported that Microsoft has acquired 21,164,022 voting ordinary shares in LSEG from York Holdings II Limited and York Holdings III Limited. Based on LSEG's total voting rights as of the close of business on January 27, 2023, Microsoft holds a voting interest in the Group of approximately 4.2% as a result of the acquisition.
