Maciej, Business Development Manager at Purple Trading: Clients Become More Mobile Trading App Oriented

Purple Trading is a brokerage house that offers trading with financial instruments such as Forex, CFDs and real "direct market access" stocks.
Maciej, the Business Development Manager at Purple Trading joins Fazzaco and talks with us on numerous trending topics.
Fazzaco: It’s a pleasure to meet you, Maciej. Thanks for joining Fazzaco. Could you tell us more about yourself and what you do at Purple Trading?
Maciej: The pleasure is mine. Well I am passionate of fundamental analysis which drove me to the currency market 8 years ago, where I had managed retention/operation at many FX companies. I have organized and spoken at various conferences and webinars.
My current role consists of developing the markets from mostly central Europe & making use of my background in law (master's degree) to ensure business partners are in line with ESMA & MIFID II guidelines and full transparency. I create sales structures and update them on an ongoing basis, mainly in terms of prospecting, marketing automation and inbound marketing for B2B/B2C.
Fazzaco: Could you share your opinions on the future development trends of forex trading?
Maciej: This is a very good and crucial question. From my point of view, the future of the development of this industry lies in the constant increase of brokers' offers, I am not talking about the number of trading instruments, but the separation of asset classes, IPO on the stock exchange, which is associated with increasing the level of qualifications of e.g. investment advisers, the possibility of offering ETFs, bonds, portfolio management.
I would like to sum up my answer for 2 main points:
1. Sales through digital channels will become the most important investment priority for B2B companies.
2. The era of one-size-fits-all sales is a thing of the past which requires the harmonization of activities in the field of marketing, lead generation, sales and after-sales service, and without this, it will not be possible to achieve long-term success in B2B sales.
Fazzaco: Do you believe that the demands of traders are changing the ways how brokers provide services, or the opposite?
Maciej: Well shortly I would say both – It is highly important to remember about MiFID II or new ESMA regulation in EU which prescribes a specific way of dealing with both traders and brokers, which benefits the entire market, sorting out some organizational matters and legal problems of many brokers from the past.
Fazzaco: Is trading software becoming more dependent on mobile devices?
Maciej: Definitely clients become more mobile app oriented. From my experience, with the help of advancements in smartphone technology, the power of a fully-fledged desktop trading platform is now able to fit into the palm of client hands.
Many of the best mobile trading apps on the market are packed full of advanced features including technical analysis tools, price alert notifications and more. They are available in tutorial mode where you can get all the information regarding trading in foreign currencies, majors, exotics, minors and spot metals, have the ability to contact the customer support team from the app, boast currency converter calculators, can record key events for the financial markets through the calendar and support customizable news feeds. You are able to register to attend economic events and educational seminars worldwide.
My conclusion on that point is that Forex trading requires a degree of preparation from the investors' end, which is why a well-rounded trading application is required. Most Forex brokers offer applications on their websites, but if you use a smartphone or a tablet to trade on the go, you need the best apps for mobile. Not all trading apps are efficient and provide all the feature.
Fazzaco: How does Purple Trading decide which exhibition to attend? What does such financial exhibition mean to you?
Maciej: Of course, I can say that the company wants to participate in every valuable conference in the world, hence some filtering should be made in the perspective of ROI and involvement in a given market, which of course in the near future might affect engagement and marketing campaigns in specific countries.
I am a huge fan, and I am always looking forward for the next expo. A big reason for going to conferences is to meet with likeminded people and industry peers, so to network I guess is obvious. As to build my professional network, many times as well I expand my knowledge and find solutions to sort out problems. It’s good practice in talking about what you do with a variety of people from similar, related and/or completely different areas of study. Presenting will make you more confident about the work that you do and give you new perspective about your work as people may ask questions that make you think about your project differently.
At a conference you have the opportunity to get feedback on your work from people who have never seen it before. This is a two-fold benefit of attending conferences, since not only may you learn things outside your field about other areas of research in your discipline, but conference attendance also has many sessions for professional development and career advice. Chances are, when you go to a conference, the attendees are united by a single broad topic, but they have many different sub-fields of study and many projects will be multidisciplinary.
Fazzaco: Any idea on how financial exhibitions will evolve after the Covid situation?
Maciej: It is hard to say, although I believe that Covid somehow forced entrepreneurs to be innovative and creative, and to reorganize their procedures. Those who survived this difficult business period, coped with the task and developed and created procedures in some companies. They looked like from the previous Millennium now that they are automated. I presume that the way of conducting a conference should aim for a hybrid model in which each participant will be able to virtually approach a given stand and talk to a person who is also virtually on the basis of a live chat, and this is a solution that is effective during a pandemic at many events. But speaking honestly, in this aspect I'm old-fashioned. A live meeting evokes more emotions, awakens more creativity in you and the elements I mentioned in the previous question.
