Marcello Arona Appointed Chief Financial Officer of M&G Investments

​M&G plc has announced the appointment of Marcello Arona as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for its Asset Management division, M&G Investments. Arona officially joined the company on 13th January 2025.

With over 20 years of experience in the asset management sector, Arona will oversee M&G Investments’ global financial operations, implementing its financial strategy, and contributing to M&G plc’s long-term growth objectives. He reports to Kathryn McLeland, CFO of M&G plc, and will collaborate with Joseph Pinto, CEO of M&G Investments.

Arona joins M&G from AXA, where he served as CEO of AXA Investment Managers UK and AXA IM GS. His experience at AXA also includes roles such as Chief Operating Officer at AXA Investment Managers in Italy and Head of AXA Investment Managers and Regional CFO in the USA.

In a statement, Kathryn McLeland emphasized Arona’s expertise in asset management and the value he brings to M&G's strategic priorities. Joseph Pinto also expressed confidence in Arona’s ability to support the firm’s growth and deliver financial outcomes for clients.

Arona’s appointment follows the retirement of Sean Fitzgerald, whose contribution to the business was acknowledged in Pinto’s remarks.
