Marex Spectron Announces to Rebrand as Marex

Marex Spectron, a UK-based broker, market maker and clearer in global financial and commodities markets, announced Friday that it has planned to rebrand as Marex, effective 31 March 2021.

At the same time, the broker will roll out a new website Marex.com in early April in connection with the change of name.

Back to 2011, Marex acquired OTC energy broker Spectron. After this acquisition, the Marex Spectron name came into being. Since then, the business has greatly increased in scale, scope and headcount, with multiple new offerings and business lines.

The company believes that by simplifying the name to Marex and introducing a new logo is a clearer reflection of today’s wider business mix.

According to the company, this change has no bearing on the company’s legal registered entities which remain unchanged. Subsidiary companies will all retain their existing brand names, whilst the Spectron brand continues within the energy brokerage division.
