Marqeta Onboards Randy Kern As Chief Technology Officer

Fazzaco learned that card issuing and payments giant Marqeta has appointed Randy Kern as Chief Technology Officer.

In his new role, Mr Kern will be responsible for scaling the global engineering team and driving technological advancements across the company.

Mr Kern brings a wealth of experience in designing and building large software products, leading development teams, and focusing product design. Prior to joining Marqeta, Mr Kern previously worked as EVP Chief Custommer Technology Officer at Salesforce, where he spent for 7 years. Over the course of his career, Mr Kern spent several years at Microsoft, most recently as Partner Director of Development.

During his tenure of office at Microsoft, Mr Kern was responsible for leading Development for the Windows Azure Compute team, in the Cloud and Enterprise group. There he had a focus on highly technical engineering projects, working on many of Microsoft’s most popular products, including Bing.

Earlier this year, Marqeta launched its new credit card issuing platform​, aiming to help the world’s innovators launch cutting-edge credit products. The new launch allows the compoany to power any card type including credit, debit, and prepaid.
