Matt Read Appointed the Retail Banking Head at Citibank Singapore

Citibank Singapore has announced the appointment of Matt Read as the new head of retail banking, effective from 17th April. In his new role, Read will be joining the senior management group for Citibank Singapore and will report directly to CEO Brendan Carney and Shyam Sambamurthy, international head of Citigold and Citigold Private Clinic.

Read is not a new face at Citi, having joined the company in 2017 as the sales and distribution head for 17 markets in Asia Pacific and Europe, Middle East, and Africa. In his previous role, Read was responsible for overseeing the sales productivity in Citi Priority, Citigold, and CPC segments, and for managing the digitization and transformation of the bank's branch network.

Before joining Citi, Read held several senior roles in sales and distribution, operations and compliance, and country leadership experience in blue-chip firms such as ANZ and GE Capital. His experience in the banking industry is expected to bring a fresh perspective to Citibank Singapore's retail banking operations.

The appointment of Matt Read comes as the bank seeks to strengthen its retail banking operations amid the ongoing global economic uncertainties. With his experience and expertise, Read is expected to drive the bank's retail banking growth and enhance its customer experience.
